All About Nature. Horses, Dams, Fish and Waterbirds

There are 5 dams on the 107ha. Of these, four are trout dams and the fifth is for tilapia/bream. Dad does not always like being disturbed while trout fishing, therefore provision has been made for the family to fish for tilapia using a float. The trout weigh up to 2,5kg.

The absence of machinery and noise attract a growing number of waterbirds such as Egyptian geese and ducks. Pheasants and quail are frequently encountered along the paths. Most of the plots have a view of one or more dams.

The constitution stipulates that only solar power may be used, which ensures that birds and animals on the estate are not disturbed by noisy generators and other machinery.

Over and above the large size of the plots, provision has been made for additional stables which may be built by owners at the horse paddock. Each plot is, however, large enough for stables to be built on site near the house.
